Writer, photographer, and video, installation, and performance artist; author of the canonical 1975 feminist video Semiotics of the Kitchen, of several books, including critiques of architecture and public space, as well as various books of photographs, and recently Culture Class, a book of essays about the role of artists, and articles in Artforum, e-flux journal, Texte zur Kunst, and other publications; solo show at Museum of Modern Art Meta-Monumental Garage Sale in 2013; exhibits at major New York and foreign galleries.
